If your flower were to speak

You patiently wait for me to bloom,
I smile and wither away your transient gloom,
You zoom and capture the momentuous joy,
And make me eternal for the world to enjoy.

Water

மழையின் மகிழ்ச்சி துளியா,
மரத்தின் கண்ணீர் துளியா!
மரங்களின் மகத்துவம் மறந்த
மனிதனை கண்ட
மரத்தின் கண்ணீர் துளியா!
மனிதன் என மார்தட்டும்   நாம்,
மரங்களின் மதிப்பை மறந்தோம்,
நிழல் தரும் மரங்களை
நிர்கதியாக்கி வைத்தோம்
கனிதரும் மரங்களை
கனிவின்றி சாய்த்தோம்
ஏன்,, எதற்காக.,
வணிக வளாகம் அமைத்து
வானுயர வீடுகள் கட்டி
வாரிசுகளின் வாழ்வின் தரத்தை
வளர்க்க விரும்பினோம்
ஆனால்.. அவர்களின்
வாழ்வாதாரத்தை மறந்தோம்
வற்றிய நதிகளையும்,
வானம் பார்த்த பூமியையும்,
வெக்கை எனும் வெப்பத்தையும்
விட்டு செல்லப் போகிறோம்,
விழுவதற்கு முன் எழுவோம்
வீட்டிற்கொரு மரம் வளர்ப்போம்,
அடுத்த தலைமுறைக்கு
அன்பளிப்பாக அளிப்போம்.

Red, yellow, green and blue,
Ubiquitous pots form an infinite queue
A sad symbol of our city's acute water crisis,
Has jeopardized our normal life and placed it in parentheses.
Water- an easily available basic neccessity,
Alas!!  Has now become a forbidden luxury!!
Every drop has to be carefully accounted for,
Or it can literally lead to water wars.
Let's conserve water by mending our ways.
Ensure optimum usage in our forthcoming days.

வானின் நட்சத்திரங்களை
வாரி கொணர்ந்து,
வழி நெடுகிலும்
வளர்த்திட்ட
வள்ளல் களுக்கு
வணக்கம் பல_அவற்றை
வரவேற்பறையில்

வரவழைத்த_தோழிக்கு

இடுப்பின்
வளைவில்
வழுக்கி விழுந்தேன்_பின்

'வளைவில் முந்தாதே'
 பின்னழகில் பூவின்
அழகை கண்டேன்..
முன்னழகில் பூவையின்
அழகை காண
ஆசை கொண்டேன்.
கண்ணுக்கு அழகு கண்ணை
பெண்ணுக்கு அழகு பெண்மை
நளினமான விரல்களுக்கு
நகைகள் எதற்கு..
விரல்களின் அழகில்
விளைந்தது காதல்
கண்ணே_உன்
கண்கள் என்ன காந்தமா!
இரும்பான என்
இதயத்தை
ஈர்க்கிறதே!!!
காதலியின் காதில் சிணுங்கும்
காதணியே_என்
காதலை காலம் பார்த்து_அவள்
காதில் கூறுவாயா!!!

Interpretation by Gowri:

She is synonymous not just to beauty but also to strength, gentleness, grace, compassion and divinity. She sits on the pedestal ready to bestow her grace upon anybody who seeks her. Let us consider ourselves fortunate and blessed to have caught a glimpse of her from the rear side. Its a divine feast to our eyes. Gosh!!Are we even fit to glance at her face to face?? Her divine aura and radiance may blind the inapt few. Let us hope that this avatar of goddess in the form of kolam is here to stay for a few more days.

அழகின் அரசியே,
பின்னலிட்டால் மறையும்
பின்னழகு என்று
கட்டி முடிந்த--உன்
கார் குழலும்,
வெண் சங்கு போன்ற
வளைந்த கழுத்தும்,
தொட்டால் சிணிங்கியாய்
தோள்களும்
மெலிந்து நீண்ட
மென் கைகளும்,

The flowers have the sweetest of nectar and yet are very unassuming. The butterflies swarm towards them. Similary people with the greatest of talents don't need to publicize themselves. Their works talk on their behalf.
